Do you want to know what goes on behind the scenes in the life of a travel blogger?

I’d love to tell you that it’s all sunset selfies, exotic holidays and brunches in beautiful places. Some of the time it is, but most of the time it isn’t!

This is why I’ve decided to finally jump on the Snapchat bandwagon and give you an unedited version of a travel blogger’s life.

It was actually Adventurous Kate’s blog post about Snapchat last month that got me thinking about signing up. Before this I didn’t really ‘get it’. But, like Twitter 5 years ago, the reason I didn’t get it was because I wasn’t following the right people. I was following friends who upload random snaps of traffic jams and their dinner and I couldn’t understand why the hell I’d want to see this. And then I started following some awesome travel bloggers and suddenly it clicked.

These travel bloggers were showing me a ‘real’ version of their lives and the places they were visiting. I love the raw, unedited style of Snapchat and you also get to see people for who they really are. It’s easy to make everything look incredible when you’ve got a DSLR camera and you’re pretty handy with Photoshop, but with Snapchat you see it exactly how the blogger does. Warts ‘n all.

Today I’m heading down to London to meet up with some guys from Lumix to chat about an exciting project I’m working on with them. And then tomorrow I’m jetting off to Portugal for a good old fashioned sunshine holiday.
