Weekend Reads #16

Weekend Reads #16

Happy weekend everyone!

I’ve got another 3-day weekend this week because I’m off to Swansea today. If it’s all gone to plan, I should almost be there by the time you read this. Fingers crossed but I’m starting to realise that nothing really goes to plan when you’re travelling with an 11-week old baby. Make sure you’re following along on Instagram to see what I’m up to in Swansea.

Here’s what I’ve been reading from the blogosphere this week…

Screen Shot 2015-05-28 at 19.08.2414 packing hacks that are life changing {tripigator}

‘Life changing’ might be a step too far. ‘Really awesome and useful packing tips that you’ll definitely use during your next trip’ would be more accurate but it’s not quite as catchy, is it?

I want to be here so bad. That is all.

This is a post I wrote for top10.com but I’m so pleased with it I had to share. These 10 places look incredible and have reassured me that staycations in the UK can be awesome. I have lots of trips in the UK planned for this summer and I hope I’ll make it to some of these gorgeous locations.

I’m so honoured to have been mentioned on this list of travel bloggers (thanks guys!) but I’ve really included it because there are a couple of awesome travel blogs I’ve never come across before. Check them out and add them to your blogging reading list.

This is an article for anyone who loves having a clutter-free home but hates the process of de-cluttering. There’s been a lot online recently about simplifying your home and therefore simplifying your life. Apparently a simpler life leads to happiness so it’s time to start tidying….

Screen Shot 2015-05-28 at 19.13.5721 best beaches in Western Australia {yTravel Blog}

It makes me sad that most people who visit Australia stick to the east coast – especially backpackers. Take a look at these photos from the west coast to see what you’re missing. WA is A-mazing.

Screen Shot 2015-05-28 at 19.10.1924 hours as a millionaire in Paris {The Travel Hack}

This is one of my own but I had to include it because it was just the most incredible 24 hours ever. To cut a long story short, The National Lottery ‘challenged me’ to spend just over £2,700 in 24 hours. I opted to spend that money in Paris and this is what I did!

One for the bloggers

Screen Shot 2015-05-28 at 18.25.239 unsexy truths about making money online {ProBlogger}

I love ProBlogger for the genuinely helpful blogging advice and I love this article for its truthfulness. I especially like point no.7 about how working online can be really lonely. This is definitely the hardest thing for me. Yes, I’m constantly chatting to people on social media but you can’t beat a gossip in the office kitchen while you’re making a cuppa.

Blogtacular Video 2014

I’m going to be speaking at Blogtacular next month. I’m really excited that I was asked to speak at the conference but I also can’t wait to listen to some of the other speakers. If it’s anything like last year, it’s going to be a good one!

I'm not usually a fan of link round-ups but I ALWAYS read yours-- it's set up so nicely and has awesome links in it. Brava Monica. Hope you have a great time in Swansea!
