Weekend Reads #8

Weekend Reads #8

It’s quick one this week as I’m writing this just before I head out to Blogstock!

Blockstock is the world’s first blogging festival. It’s been put together by the guys behind Traverse, an informal and fun travel blogging conference. I spoke at the last conference about social media and I’ve been asked to speak again!

This weekend I’ll be speaking about how to work with travel brands and I’ll be sharing my experiences with the fashion, travel, lifestyle and foodie bloggers.

I’m putting the final touches to my talk and I’ll be sharing everything I learned at the conference next week.

Here’s what I’ve been reading from the blogosphere this week…

I want to be here, right now! I’m using this as a great example in my Blogstock talk. This is a fashion blog doing travel really, really well, proving you can combine fashion, style and travel and have amazing results.

The photos are gorgeous and I love following the personal story of someone’s trip. Gorgeous beaches + month watering food + a beautiful and exotic location = my dream holiday!

Where squatting meets art at Ljubljana’s Metelkova {d travels around}

I loved visiting Metelkova in Ljubljana. It’s an art district within the city with a really interesting history. Read this to find out how it became this gorgeous, vibrant. artistic hub.

This is the cutest interactive map ever from SimplyBe. Plotted on the map are 20 of the coolest areas in the coolest cities in the world. Click on the area you’re interested in and you’re taken to a mini guide with travel tips, where to eat and drink and, most importantly, what to wear while you’re there. I wish this was available for every single place in the whole world, it would make packing so much easier! Check it out to fuel your wanderlust and for holiday packing inspiration.

I’m really glad India is on the graphic as that’s a really difficult place to pack for and I’m hoping they’ll add Paris as that’s next on my list!

Dear Bloggers, Love from a PR x  {Thoroughly English}

I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from this post for my Blogstock talk. We bloggers often think about ourselves when we’re working with brands and PRs but put yourself in their shoes and think about what they want from you as much as you want from them.

PR X is absolutely right. It's fun when someone put it right :) Haha, and the hipsters' map is great! Thanx.
