What’s in your Cabin Case? Hand Luggage Only

What’s in your Cabin Case? Hand Luggage Only

Welcome to a brand new series here on The Travel Hack that’s giving us a sneaky peek into the cabin cases of some of my favourite bloggers.

This is partly to celebrate the launch of The Travel Hack Cabin Case but also because I’m super nosy and I want to have a nose inside their cases and find out their top packing hacks and favourite products.

We’re kicking off the series with two of my absolute favourite bloggers, Yaya and Lloyd from Hand Luggage Only. I’ve been a big fan of their blog for years after discovering the guys through Bloglovin’. They seemed to appear out of nowhere and rose to travel blogging fame thanks to their gorgeous photography, friendly writing style and their sharable posts. I stalked them for well over a year before I finally met them during a press trip to Menorca. But after so much stalking I felt likeI knew them and had the best time exploring that gorgeous little island with them. I can confirm that they’re just as fun, friendly and lovely as they appear in their videos and they’re such great guys to travel with!

So here’s a peek into what’s in the cabin case. Spoiler alert: They don’t travel with hand luggage only!

Do you usually travel with checked luggage or just hand luggage?

Okay – you caught us out! Our blog might be called Hand Luggage Only but we do (sometimes) travel with checked-in luggage. Now, I’d love to say this is due to needing all our camera equipment and tripods etc  (which it is for some places) but other times I just wanna pack my inflated unicorn to relax at the pool.

What 5 things do you always have in your cabin case? (other than your passport, phone, wallet and chargers)

Okay, so we always have a reusable water bottle to fill up at airports, especially for long-haul flights. It means you don’t need to keep getting up to fetch a dinky water glass every 10 minutes – which is a pain on a 12-hour flight. We also pack our iPad so we can either catch up on some Netflix or draw some maps for our blog and we always make sure to have Pyjama bottoms to relax on a long flight.

Ear plugs are also packed in our bags, especially overnight flight and some lip balm to deal with the dry aircon.

If you could magically design something that makes travelling easier, what would it be?

Lay down beds that don’t cost as much as Business Class.

Do you have any packing hacks?

Pack light, make sure you have the essentials covered and worst case scenario, know you can likely head to a shop if you’ve forgotten something small.

What’s your top tip to stay stylish while you travel?

Sunblock! Lloyd always ends up looking like a lobster in a sunny destination. There’s no amount of style that can help when he looks like a tomato. Ha!

Do you have any items of clothing you always travel with?

Swimwear. It doesn’t matter if it’s a cold or hot destination, you never know if there will be an opportunity for a quick dip somewhere.

What’s your next travel destination?

We are jetting off to Bali as we speak!

If you’re not following them already, I highly recommend hopping over to Instagram @handluggageonly and taking a look at their latest photos from Bali. It looks gorgeous!

I love the idea of travelling only with hand lugguage! But by the time I've packed my camera equipment and electronics there's precious little room for anything else. Lovely idea for a series of posts.
