10 travel hacks for travelling by train

  1. I generally would suggest using the train company websites to buy tickets. Whilst it is annoying having paper tickets you’ll generally get a cheaper deal which Trainline can’t expose or sell. Train companies like Virgin have their own products, their best product is Saver Half Return (although Virgin has made this available on most journey planners). These tickets give you half price on the return tickets if you travel to and from destination cheaper. Other train companies will do things like getting £1 off booking if you book on their websites, you’ll also not get the Trainline booking fee going straight to the companies.

    The Railcards will soon be available through an App which is exciting! 🙂
