Weekend Wants: Globes, Vintage Luggage and Travel Necklaces

Fill your home with globes

A home filled with travel

I moved into my new London flat over a month ago now and it still isn’t quite feeling like home. I’m waiting for my next pay packet to get some of my favourite travel photos blown up onto canvases and fill the place with maps and globes and all things travel. I wish I could pop back to South East Asia to buy all those unique souvenirs from the night markets that I managed to resist buying while I was there!

Vintage Luggage

I’ve recently become a bit obsessed with vintage luggage. It makes me feel a bit sick when I think of all the old leather suitcase we discovered and threw out when my family moved into a new house all those years ago. I love checking out all the vintage suitcases at places like Camden Market.

Travel Necklaces

Not only do I love to have travel inspired ornaments and furnishings around my house but I also love travel inspired accessories.

I love that necklace at the top right with the bow and postcard and charm. So cute! I would wear it every day x

Your flat is going to look amazing by the time you’re done! I know how you feel – I’ve just moved into a new place and I’m trying to make it feel like home – isn’t it ironic that it’s travel-related stuff that makes us feel ‘at home’?! I love the idea of big canvas prints of photos!

Ohh, I love a good vintage suitcase! Doubling as storage space and looking cute at the same time! I like to save matchboxes from different restaurants I’ve been to during my travels and keep them in a giant glass vase…happy memories of great meals, and also comes in handy with my candle obsession!;-)

That’s such a brilliant idea, so cute. I have a friend who has a huge vase filled with wine corks. It’s meant to remind him of all the great meals he’s had with friends but actually just makes him look like an alcoholic! ;)

I have a vintage suitcase that I love! Those necklaces are really cute. I’ll have to keep an eye out for them.

I love them too. I have a crazy amount of travel style necklaces now. Choosing which one to wear is now the tough part!

Ahhh I LOVE those necklaces! The trunks are really cute too, I bought one at an auction a few weeks ago, I just need to clean it up a bit (lazy!) xx

Ooo let me know how you get on with it. I want to so something like that too but don’t really have the space in my little flat to have trunks lying around. One day…

I have been terrible at properly decorating since moving to London. Perhaps it is because I move too often! Lately though it has become more appealing to by furniture and bigger bits. Perhaps I am putting down roots!? :)
