#Blog4Trek: The Final Round

Today has been the perfect day. The sun has been shining, the waves were crashing, the beach was perfect, the beer was flowing and it was one of those days that leaves you grinning from ear to ear. It’s only the second day of my Trek America trip and already I know the next 2 weeks are going to be incredible. Today has been the perfect day. And for one lucky blogger, Trek America is offering them the chance to win a place a place on the Westerner 2 trip which is the trip I’m doing right now. It’s the final stage of the competition and I can safely safe that the winning blogger is going to have the trip of a lifetime. It’s the final stage of the competition and I can safely safe that the winning blogger is going to have the trip of a lifetime.

Yes, we’re drinking beer around a fire pit on the beach. Sounds weird but the fire actually blocked the wind rather than making us any hotter. It’s beach relaxation at it’s finest!

Enough about my trip because I’ll be telling you loads more about this over the next few weeks. What about Trek America’s Next Top Blogger?

There have been so many brilliant entries into the #Blog4Trek competition and I while judging it I had the chance to discover some new bloggers with a love for travel.

For the first stage of the competition entrants were asked to write a blog post about what they’d pack for a weekend away. There were lots of cool and creative answers and I loved Rachel Birchley’s post. Rachel has the same tactic as I do and simply packs one pair of skinnies to make sure she packs light and then takes a couple of tops to dress up or dress down her outfit.

I also loved Jessie Phillips’ from Two Feet, One World super cute video. She’s created packing tips for different types of weekend away and there’s some great tips in there no matter what type of holiday you’re going on.

Out of all the brilliant entries, 10 of the best packing tips posts were through to the second round.

For the second round entrants had to submit a photo which you can see here. One of my favourite photos from this section was by Amy from The Camera’s Lying.

I love how simple but creative and fun this picture is. I love the way Amy shows that you can create something really cool without any fancy technology or props, you just need some imagination!

Five bloggers then went round to the third round and they were asked to write a blog post about why they think they should win.
Here are their posts and if you’re anything like me, you’ll think they all deserve to win!

Live Laugh Lipstick – Like Georgina says, she definitely ticks the creative box and she’s made a cool little video to go in her post that shows off her video and photography skills.
Rachel Birchley – Rachel wants to win so she can inspire others to travel too through her blog posts and photos.
Tuesday’s Girl – You have to read this poem. If this doesn’t make you want to travel I don’t know what will!
The Camera’s Lying – Amy says that she pours her heart, body and soul into her blog posts and you can see this in her honest and friendly blog.
Beazie – Alida says, ‘Everyone needs a little fuel added to the expedition fire in their bellies, and I want to be that fuel and encourage people to go and live the adventure across America.’ I love the thought of bloggers fuelling people’s adventure fire.

It has been so much fun being a part of this competition. It’s been so tough judging though because there were so many brilliant entries.
The winning blogger is going to be announced very soon so keep your fingers and toes crossed for your favourite.

Whoever wins is going to have the most incredible time. Good luck everyone and I’m looking forward to finding out the winner!
