Sunday Brunch: Weekend Reads #1

If things have seemed a little quiet on The Travel Hack this week it’s because I’ve been sick, really sick, and for the past five days I’ve barely made it out of bed.

My boyfriend prised my laptop off me and forced me to spend two entire days relaxing on the sofa. This is something I never do and, despite being sick, it was pure bliss.

I managed to sneak my iPad to the sofa and I spent the next few days catching up on my favourite blogs.

I did nothing but drink tea and eat chocolate Hobnobs (calories don’t count when you’re sick) while indulging in a beautiful world of blogs. I discovered so many new blogs too and I realised there’s so much I’ve been missing out on! I enjoyed reading these blogs so much that I decided to make my weekly catch-up part of my routine and I’ll be sharing some of my favourite reads with you each week with a new Sunday Brunch: Weekend Reads feature.

Even if you’re travelling somewhere beautifully exotic or wildly adventurous I think everyone needs to take some time to chill out on a Sunday. Grab a  lazy breakfast with a huge pot of tea and start reading all those articles you bookmarked throughout the week but never got round to reading.

As you’ll be able to see, I love reading travel blogs but I also tip my toes into fashion, lifestyle, health, beauty and tech blogs too. I basically love anything that is beautiful and inspiring and I hope you’ll love them too.

green juice cleanseMy Beauty Regime? Green Juice Every Morning {anouk yve}

I like to pretend that one day I will grow up and start eating really healthily. One day I will stop eating Cocopops and Nutella for breakfast and when I do I’ll have green juices like this one. I’ll then be super fit and healthy and be so full of energy that they’ll probably name Superwoman. Yep, one day this will happen.

how much spend 2 week trip to europeLondon and Paris – What I spent in 14 days {Solo Traveler Blog}

This is a brilliant resource and a detailed summary of how much Janice spent during a 2-week trip to London and Paris. Budgeting can be one of the hardest parts when it comes to travel so it’s always nice to see how much other people have spent so you can adjust your budget accordingly. I’ve considered doing this myself a few times but I usually terrify myself with how much I spend after just a few days.

fake tan for faceFake a summer glow {the glitter guide}

Spring is nearly here, yey! This means I need to get rid of the deathly pale look I’ve been rocking all winter and get my summer glow on. As I’ve almost hit the ‘late 20’s’ stage of my life I’ve become more aware of sun damage to my skin and the only way I’m going to look like a bronzed beach babe is if I fake it so these products will come in very handy. I’ve got my eye on the Clairns Golden Glow Booster because you can add it to the moisturiser you already use.

Anyone who manages to combine fashion, style, gorgeous photography and some good old fashioned travel tips gets a huge thumbs up from me. If I ever travel to Brazil with a huge travel budget then I’ll be coming back to this post. Click through the links at the bottom for some serious travel inspiration/jealousy inducing photos.

cadburys flapjackCadbury Creme Egg Chocolate Flapjack {HuffPost Lifestyle}

I wouldn’t normally suggest that anyone should waste a perfectly good Cadbury’s Creme Egg but when it’s being used to create something that looks this good then I think it’s just about acceptable.

There is still a 14 year old inside of me that tries to procrastinate whenever I need to get some important work done. I’ve been on the lookout for some time-management/list organisation software to help me get the important things done first and I think I’ve just found it with Trello!

YogaYoga in Paradise: Pranamar Yoga Retreat {Travelettes}

There is nothing I love more than yoga in exotic places. This place looks incredible and it has firmly made it onto my Yoga Retreat Wishlist (yes, I really have one of those).

If you only read one thing today, make sure it’s this. Take your time and savour the words like you would a delicious French pastry. Or a tasty German sausage, the choice is yours in this beautiful town.

tips for skiiers25 Tips for First Time Skiers {The Wanderblogger}

I seriously wish this had been written two years ago when I went skiing for the first time. There’s going to be lots of ski posts coming up on The Travel Hack this week so if you’re a beginner, you might want to start here!

This final Sunday Brunch Reads deserved a bigger picture because oh dear Lord look at it. No words required. Just drool.
