Are you planning a luxury travel experience? Perhaps you’re celebrating a big birthday, a special occasion or would like something truly incredible to look forward to.
My travel bucket list is endless but I do have a few really luxurious experiences on there. I love having a list of destinations to aim for and hope to one day visit them all.
Here are 5 luxury travel experiences to get on your bucket list
A Luxury Cruise
At the top of any luxury travel bucket list should be a luxury cruise! A cruise is an incredible, relaxing and luxurious way to see lots of destinations without the stress of taking planes, trains, buses or taxis.
A luxury cruise with MSC Cruises is high up on my bucket list. They have the most incredible MSC Yacht Club which is an exclusive area on the ship that takes luxury to a whole new level. It’s a private and indulgent area where you have a butler and a beautiful MSC Yacht Club Suite as well as access to a private restaurant and lounge, plus 24/7 room service.
Cruise ships are not only a wonderful way to see a lot of new places but also a perfect opportunity for fine dining and sophisticated nightlife You can spend your days exploring new destinations and exciting cities and after an adventurous day out you’ll come back to your suite before spending the evening in lavish restaurants with countless options for fine dining. There are elegant bars and many choices for evening entertainment so each day is packed with experiences to remember from start to finish.
And let’s not forget the days at sea! Arriving in a new country on a cruise ship is wonderful but I also love the days at sea. It’s incredibly relaxing to lie on the top deck of the ship, soaking up the sun, swimming in the pool or enjoying the spa.
Orient Express
The second thing on my luxury travel bucket list is riding on the Orient Express to Venice.
The timeless glamour of this incredible train journey would be something to remember for a lifetime.
I’d love to take the train from London to Venice. You begin in London with brunch and a bellini (a world away from my usual M&S meal deal I get for the train!) as you glide through the countryside towards the beautiful city of Venice. The food onboard looks exquisite and I just love how train journeys force you to relax and enjoy the world as it passes you by.
Luxury Safari
A luxury safari is just as much about seeing the animals as it is about enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’d love to stay in a deluxe treehouse overlooking the African bush and the wild savannah.
It would be an opportunity to get back in touch with nature as you spend your evening under the stars, dine by a roaring campfire, trek through the nature reserves and wake up with the sunrise to watch the animals before the day gets too hot. Not to mention the fine dining experiences and swanky vehicles that transport you around the reserves to get close to the beautiful wildlife.
Water Villa in the Maldives
It could be the Maldives or Mauritius or the Seychelles or anywhere with that perfectly white sand and crystal clear water!
Imagine staying in a luxurious villa perched just above that azure blue water. With your windows open you’d feel the soft sea breeze and hear the gentle lapping of the waves. You could wake up and dive right in before enjoying a floating breakfast in your own private pool.
Spend your days eating deliciously fresh seafood, soaking up the sun and exploring the clear waters all around you.
As night falls there’s a different atmosphere on the island as flickering candles are lit and romantic seafood feasts are served as you sink your toes into the sand.
Amalfi Coast Road Trip
The Amalfi Coast is filled with classy hotels, stylish bars, sumptuous restaurants and sophisticated spots at every turn. A road trip through this beautiful part of the world is the ultimate way to enjoy it.
Fly into Naples and pick up a classic car before making your way to the stunning stops of Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Pompeii and Capri. This road trip would be all about the hotels you stay in each night.
The nice thing about this bucket list experience is that it can be as expensive or as budget friendly as you wish. Opt for 5* hotels with the best locations if you’re at the luxurious end of the scale or seek out the more affordable hidden gems if you’re experiencing this on a budget.
