I bet you didn’t think I’d be saying loungewear and elegant in the same sentence but, seriously, look at some of these travel sets, they’re gorgeous.
Here are outfits I think are the best travelling clothes for ladies. These travel sets are all available on Amazon and they’re all very affordable.
If you’re not much of a reader, I’ll make it easy for you. This was my favourite and I’ve been living in this hoodie just for day to day life.

CRZ Yoga are known for their viral butterluxe leggings range. I have a pair myself and I love them and I can safely say I love the flared version just as much. I really like the crossover waist on these as it’s really flattering and comfortable.
The CRZ Yoga hoodie is definitely a keeper. It’s just the right length. (I love a cropped hoodie but I’ve also had three children and tend to indulge in a carb-loaded feast on the plane so I don’t want it too short!) It also has thumb holes and a massive hood so it’s cosy and you can hide under that hood when you want to sleep.
I’m also loving the CRZ Yoga crossover waist cycling shorts. I got these in the 5” and I’m loving them.
Travel Hack Tip: If you’re travelling somewhere where it’ll be hot when you arrive, these would be a great addition to your carry-on luggage so you can quickly get changed once you arrive. They fold up so small so they’re easy to pack in your hand luggage.
Bonus points: The CRZ Yoga set gets bonus points because these items can also be worn if you plan to workout while you’re away. OK, they might need a wash if you get sweaty and plan to wear the same outfit to come home!

This jogger tracksuit is the cheapest of the travel sets and it’s also the softest and comfiest. This material is just delicious. It also isn’t too thick so it’s good for warmer flights.
I really like this one. It’s simple, stylish, a nice shape and would be a really easy option to throw on before a flight.

This set is much thinner than the others so it’s lightweight and better if you’re flying somewhere warm.
Personally, I was disappointed the colour was a much brighter blue than pictured and I think the trousers are a bit short (I’m 5’3 and they felt short even on my little legs!) I was also annoyed that this set came vacuum packed so it was really creased and just looked rubbish when I tried it on.
They’re perfect for loungewear around the house but I’m not sure they work as a travel set.
What’s the best colour for a travel set?
You’ll notice most of these travel sets are available in multiple colours, and I know the lighter neutral shades like creams and light khakis are in style right now, but I personally think the best travelling clothes for ladies are dark colours.
If you wear dark colours you can:
- Wear the same outfit for the return journey home to save on packing
- Avoid looking grubby after inevitable spills and dirt
Bonus points for a travel set with pockets!
Not all travel clothes for ladies will have pockets (why do men get all the pockets and women’s clothes rarely do!?) but when I’m selecting a travel set it gets bonus points if it’s got pockets.
I often find myself juggling a lot at the airport so it’s handy to have a pocket to quickly and easily access my phone and passport.
Should you wear a unitard or playsuit on a plane?
If you’re going for the classic leggings and a matching vest combo or fitted joggers and matching top then you may be wondering if you’d be better off in a unitard or playsuit?
The answer is no! Absolutely no!!
I can see why it seems like a good idea. You only need to worry about one item of clothing so it feels simple.
But no, don’t do it.
If you’re wearing a unitard of a playsuit you’re basically going to have to get naked every time you go to the bathroom.It’s not ideal, especially when using public restrooms with flimsy locks on the doors.
And any ladies with long torsos will know how uncomfortable it is to wear a playsuit that rides up in all the wrong places. Trust me, you don’t want that during a long journey!
What shoes are best to wear when you travel?
The shoe you travel in needs to be:
- Easy to slip on and off for security checks and comfort on the plane
- Comfortable as you may end up walking further than you think
I usually travel in trainers. I usually workout while I’m away so I’ll travel in the trainers I’d go to the gym in or go for a run in.
My current favourite trainers are the New Balance 327’s.
