Weekend Reads #5

Weekend Reads #5

Hi there and welcome to another Weekend Reads where I share everything I’ve been reading and writing around the web this week.

I’ve had another week at home while I’ve been doing my best to begin training for my Ironman challenge and catching up on blog writing.

Here’s what I’ve been writing:

And what I’ve been reading…

Screen Shot 2014-07-11 at 14.13.0112 Travel Hacks for Flying {Travelettes}

Another great post by Frankie for the Travelettes with some fantastic travel hacks for booking flights. Frankie is a savvy lady as well as a savvy traveller and I highly recommend taking all of these tips onboard.

Massive thanks to the lovely guys at Autographer for including me in this list! Instagram is my favourite social media network and I could send hours scrolling through the gorgeous photos that people capture during their everyday lives. There are some great bloggers to follow here so check it out.

What’s that I hear you say? You didn’t realise that Wales was cool? It isn’t just cool but Wales is pretty flipping sexy. I grew up in North Wales and I spend many weekends exploring this gorgeous little country. I’ll be staying in the Living Room tree houses for my birthday in October and this article has made me even more excited about it.

It looks like the secret to Wales’ coolness is slowly spreading!

Here’s another blogger singing the praises of Slovenia. I love the fact that she *whispers* about the beauty of Slovenia. Like everyone that visits this gorgeous little country, part of you wants to shout about it from the rooftops but another part of you wants to keep it as your own secret place.

Website of the week

Net-A-Sporter

You may have noticed I’m having somewhat of a fitness push this month in preparation for my Ironman. We all know that the first stage of any new workout regime or healthy eating plan is procrastinating by making a plan and buying new clothes or cookery books. This is exactly what I’ve been doing with Net-A-Porter’s sporty new sister, Net-A-Sporter. See what they did there? Clever. Check it out for luxury sportswear to help you workout in style…or procrastinate for a bit longer.

It’s tough to find anything original on the internet these days but this artistic lady has nailed it. Check out @MirrorsMe for cool mirror selfies with a difference.

What’s next?

This weekend I’m going glamping to Hereford.

I’m a big fan of glamping (glamorous camping) as I love the great outdoors but even when you’re camping you need some glamour! I’ll be staying in a yurt with Canopy & Stars and while I’m there I’ll be testing out LG’s new G3 phone. I’ve been using it for a few days now and I’m already loving it but I’ll be putting it through its paces to see how it can help me while I’m travelling.

I’ve already downloaded some cool apps. I have Google Maps and Spotify for the road trip down to Hereford and VSCO cam to edit all my country photos. If you have any other app suggestions please let me know!

Mini me

If you’ve been following me on Facebook and Instagram you will have seen some strange little pictures popping up that make me look like a Borrrower.

A few months ago, British Airways scanned me and created a 3D model. They then sent my mini-me off on an adventure and I’ve been posting photos to give some clues as to where she went. Here are the final few photos to give it away…
