It’s competition time here on The Travel Hack and this week I’m giving away a Lumix CM1 communication camera from the Lumix 4K photo range.
The Lumix CM1 is one of the best smartphones on the market right now for mobile photographers. Lumix actually don’t call it a smartphone, they call it a ‘communication camera’ because it’s first and foremost an incredible camera.
A REALLY incredible camera with Android and the ability to use it as a phone, what’s not to love about that?
I love a DSLR but there are times when it’s just not appropriate to have an enormous camera slung over your shoulder. Sometimes you want something slim and compact to slip into your pocket or your handbag so you can take it everywhere.
I was really impressed by the photo quality of the CM1 and found it produced crisp and vibrant images, even in low lighting. It has full manual control, you can shoot in raw and it has 4k video capabilities.

Love the Lumix range! I haven’t tried this one out, but I have the GX7, which I rate. This one sounds like an ideal slimmer camera.

As a food writer, I sometimes get very odd looks in restaurants when I get out my 60D! (I won’t even go into the disparaging comments from my mother-in-law – I think she gets very easily embarrassed!)

That’s exactly what I like using the CM1 for too. It’s just awkward getting a big camera out in a restaurant or a bar but little cameras usually aren’t very good in low light but the CM1 is brilliant.

I’m on the look out for a new camera after my last one came to a tragic end during my hen weekend away – amazingly the photo’s were safe but the camera…no more 🙁
