If you’re anything like me, you’ll know that finding the perfect footwear for a British summer can feel surprisingly difficult.
One minute the sun is shining and you’re wearing shorts, the next you’re splashing through muddy puddles after a sudden downpour. Add dog walks, school runs, gardening, beach days and weekend adventures into the mix and you need something practical. But let’s be honest, you also want something that looks good.
That’s exactly why I’ve been loving the Muck Boots Rainscape Chelsea Boots in the Woodrose Twilight Mauve colourway. Or, to put it more simply, they’re the prettiest pink welly I’ve ever found.

I’ve been wearing them constantly for dog walks, trips to the beach, pottering around the garden and those everyday school runs where the weather can’t quite decide what it’s doing. They’ve quickly become one of those items I find myself reaching for without even thinking about it.
Here’s why I think they might just be the perfect summer pink welly boot.
First impressions
Let’s start with the colour because that’s what caught my eye straight away. The Woodrose Twilight Mauve shade is a lovely soft pink that’s feminine without being overly girly. It’s subtle enough to work with almost everything in my wardrobe but different enough to feel a bit special.

I’m someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, whether that’s travelling, walking the dog, exploring a new destination or simply trying to keep up with family life. Most practical outdoor footwear tends to come in black, navy or dark green. Functional, yes. Exciting, not always.
I’ve been trying to add a bit of colour into my wardrobe recently and a colourful welly boot feels like a great place to start.
These boots feel a little different. The soft pink colour instantly makes them feel more stylish than a traditional welly, while still being completely practical.
When they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by how sleek they looked. They don’t have that bulky, clunky appearance that some waterproof boots can have. Instead, they look much more like a fashionable Chelsea boot.

Made for unpredictable British weather
If you’ve lived in the UK for any length of time, you’ll know that summer doesn’t always mean sunshine. A typical British summer day might involve sunshine at breakfast, rain by lunchtime and a cool breeze by the evening. That’s exactly where these boots come into their own.
They’re completely waterproof, which means muddy dog walks, wet grass, unexpected rain showers and puddle-filled paths aren’t a problem.
At the same time, they don’t look out of place on a dry day.
Perfect for dog walks
As a spaniel owner, I take a looooong walk every morning. Then I come home and promise myself I’ll get changed…but I never do. I end up in my dog walking clothes all day. That’s why I want a pair of boots I can happily wear all day and not feel like I’m dressed like a dog walker!
I’m always looking for footwear that’s practical enough for daily walks but comfortable and stylish enough that I don’t resent wearing it. These boots tick both boxes.
I’ve worn them on muddy woodland paths, across damp fields and on rainy morning walks and they’ve kept my feet completely dry. The grip feels reassuring too. While no boot can make you completely immune to slippery conditions, I feel confident wearing these on wet paths and uneven ground.
Most importantly, they’re comfortable enough for longer walks. There’s nothing worse than footwear that starts rubbing after twenty minutes and thankfully that hasn’t been an issue for me.

Surprisingly good for beach walks
Living in Britain means beach walks aren’t just reserved for hot summer days. Some of the best coastal walks happen when the weather is a little wild.
These boots are brilliant for those occasions.
They’re ideal for walking along damp sand, exploring rock pools or wandering through grassy dunes after rain. If you’ve ever ended up with soggy trainers after an ambitious beach walk, you’ll understand why waterproof footwear can be a game changer.
I particularly like wearing them on those cooler seaside days when sandals aren’t practical but walking boots feel like overkill. They strike a really nice balance between comfort, practicality and style.

Great for gardening
For everyday gardening jobs, these boots are perfect.
They slide on easily, which is ideal when you’re just popping in and out. The pull tabs make them simple to put on and take off, even when you’re in a rush.
Whether I’m pulling weeds, planting flowers or simply watering the pots, they’re easy to slip on and off and I don’t have to worry about getting them dirty. A quick rinse and they’re ready to go again.
It’s one of those small conveniences that makes outdoor jobs feel much less of a hassle.

Ideal for busy school runs
School runs demand a special kind of footwear.
You need something comfortable, practical and presentable. Something that works whether you’re walking across a muddy playground, dashing to the shops afterwards or meeting a friend for coffee.
These boots became one of my favourite school run options during the wet spring months when it seemed to rain for weeks on end.
They look much nicer than traditional wellies but offer all the same waterproof benefits.

They actually look good with summer outfits
This is probably the biggest reason I keep reaching for them. A lot of waterproof footwear is practical but not particularly fashionable but these boots manage to be both.
I’ve worn them with leggings, jeans, denim shorts and casual dresses and they seem to work with everything.
The Chelsea boot shape gives them a more polished appearance than a classic welly. Combined with the soft pink colour, they feel modern, versatile and easy to style. For British summers, that’s incredibly useful.
When the weather is unpredictable, it’s nice to have footwear that works with multiple outfits rather than having to completely rethink what you’re wearing.
Comfortable and lightweight for everyday adventures
I was surprised by how light these boots are. They’re so lightweight compared to many traditional wellies and flexible enough to wear for hours at a time. They’re supportive enough for everyday adventures without feeling heavy.
Are they worth the money?

These Rainscape boots currently retail for £84 (June ‘26) so they’re not the cheapest wellies you’re going to find. But I do think they’re good value.
I’m a big believer in buying fewer things that last. If something is well made, versatile and gets regular use, I’m usually happy to invest a little more. These boots definitely fall into that category for me.
I’ve worn them for dog walks, gardening, beach trips, school runs and everyday errands. When I look at how often they’ve been used, the cost feels completely justified.
They’re not a trend purchase that will sit forgotten in the back of the wardrobe. They’re practical enough to become part of your regular routine while still feeling stylish.
For me, that’s where the real value lies.
